Volatile Mixture
Beer and metal blend at the Oriental Theater.
Published: May 24, 2007
In my humble, jam-band-loving opinion, all tickets to the Beer Show should come with a warning label that reads: This product contains potentially unstable elements that may explode when mixed together. Not that there's anything wrong with ten metal bands and all-you-can-drink microbrews. Au contraire: Either one sounds like a head-throbbing good time when isolated far — like, miles — from one another. Mix together, and you've got yourself a bona fide rubber-gloves-and-safety-goggles chemistry experiment.
According to media contact Tiffany Padilla, "Promote Denver was prominent last year with these little shows before it went on a small hiatus. This is our way of showing that were back and we're not going anywhere anytime soon!" Rock on!
So buck up and don't be such a pussy: Music starts at 2 p.m. at the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue, with each band playing around thirty to 45 minutes and the headliner, Adam's Ruin, topping off for "a little more time," according to Padilla. Four types of beer, provided by Pitchers Brewery, will be served all day long. Between sets, expect giveaways from Celebrity Tattoo, Dog House Music and Sockout Studios. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. For more information, call 720 891 2350 or go to www.promotedenver.com.
