Moguls Gone Wild!

There might be less painful ways to spend your fiftieth birthday, but Walter Isenberg, president and CEO of Sage Hospitality Resources, is willing to buck up — and get bucked off — for a good cause: tonight's Country Showcase, which benefits Concerts for Kids, the charity he started with his wife, Christie. And so before three of Denver's favorite country bands take the stage, Walter will climb on a mechanical bull, raising more money every second he stays on. "I've challenged my friends to join me in burning my recently acquired AARP card or to just come watch me being removed from the Fillmore on a gurney," he says in a taunt to his competitors, including Denver City Councilman Charlie Brown, chef Tyler Wiard and drag queen Nuclia Waste. "Needless to say, any of your current or future lame attempts to defeat me as the bull-riding champion will be unsuccessful."

The celebrity bull-riding contest starts at 5:30 p.m., with the Kory Brunson Band kicking off the real show at 7 p.m., followed by KYGO's Mudflap and his band, Flap-N-Jacks, at 8:15 p.m. and the Railbenders at 9:30.
