Spring Training

By Susan Froyd

Published on February 28, 2008

Baseball is back, at least in the sunnier climes of Arizona and Florida, where spring training is under way (the Rockies take on the Chicago White Sox this very day!). So pull yourselves together: It's time to wipe away last fall's tears and re-engage. For many of the hard-core fans, that means hitting the popular online subscription site Baseball Prospectus, which features a hand-picked staff of diamond analysts, comprehensive statistics, non-stop baseball chat and fantasy forecasts. Or get yours to go: Baseball Prospectus 2008, the book, is hitting bookstore shelves as we speak, packed full of 2008-specific info, predictions and current events.

BP co-founder, editor and die-hard Oakland A's fan Christina Kahrl and website writers Dan Fox and Nate Silver will help guide you through the tome's finer print tonight when they visit the Tattered Cover LoDo, 1628 16th Street, for a book signing and discussion at 7:30 p.m.; go to www.tatteredcover.com or call 303-436-1070. And then you'll be ready. Sa-wing, batter, batter.
