Jack White announced a concert at the Bluebird Theater just a day before he plays the Denver venue.

The show is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 (doors at 7 p.m.). The Denver stop is the latest announcement on White's tour, which is supporting his new album, No Name, with a string of surprise shows in an untraditional, barebones touring format.

In August, White said he would be performing only off-the-cuff, intimate shows via a statement he signed as his new persona, "Johnny Guitar."

"Lotta folk asking about when we are going to announce 'tour dates,'" he wrote on Instagram. "Well, we don't know what to tell you but the tour already started at the Legion a couple of weeks ago. People keep saying that these are 'Pop up shows' we've been playing, well, you can call them whatever you want, but we are on tour right now. These are the 'shows.' We will mostly be playing at small clubs, back yard fetes, and a few festivals here and there to help pay for expenses."

He noted that the concerts would "be announced as close to the show date as possible: and "some shows we won't even decide to do until that morning."

"I also want to walk through orchard fields and grab apples off of trees at will and fill my belly full of that fruit if the desire strikes me," he added. "I'm looking for that cool breeze you know?"
