On Sunday, August 14, Westword will host Tacolandia, a celebration of the city's street tacos in all their tortilla-wrapped glory. Join us at Sports Authority Field to enjoy unlimited samples from many of Denver's top taquerias, cantinas, Mexican restaurants and food trucks, including Texas-style eatery R Taco.
R Taco was founded in Dallas in 2010 and has quickly spread, with three locations serving street-style eats in Aurora, Littleton and Arvada. True to its roots, the Texas taqueria will be serving beef-brisket tacos, made with slow-roasted and shredded brisket, onion, cilantro and queso fresco.
Bring an appetite as big as the Lone Star state so you can try these and dozens of other tacos. Tacolandia tickets are for $30 for general admission, which gets you unlimited food samples and entertainment from 4 to 7 p.m.; a $65 VIP ticket allows early entry into the event at 3 p.m., plus two Estrella Jalisco beers and plenty of surprises...including food from chef Jamey Fader of Lola.
Get your tickets now at westwordtacolandia.com. (If you hurry, you might still be able to snag a fiesta four-pack: four GA tickets for just $100.)
